pH Test Strips for saliva and urine. Super Sensitive Wide Range pH 4.5 – pH 9.0 (100 Strips)
Test your body pH Results in just 15 seconds
It’s ridiculously easy and cheap to measure your pH. All you need is a box of pH test strips.
Testing your urine pH with pH strips
While you sleep, your body is hard at work processing all the acids from the day. Because of this, your first morning urine should be acidic. This is not the best indicator of what is actually going on with your kidneys, so it is best not to put too much emphasis on it.
Instead, take the reading on your second urine of the day. Here’s the easiest way:
- Pass the pH strip (or pH tape if you dare) directly through your stream of urine to thoroughly wet it.
- Flick off the excess (preferably in the toilet so you don’t get in trouble with your family!).
- Wait the recommended amount of time (generally 15 seconds).
- Compare the color of the strip with the chart that comes with them.
- Record the results.
You can test whenever you like, but definitely test your urine before lunch and before dinner.
These will be more accurate readings because, as I said above, meals can temporarily change your pH by quite a bit.
If you are saying to yourself, “I don’t have to go to the bathroom that much.” I say, “You need to drink more water!”
Unless your urine is clear, or very pale yellow, you are dehydrated. Simple as that. Unless you are taking B vitamins, in which case your urine will be bright yellow.
Testing your saliva pH
Similar to testing your first urine of the day, your first saliva of the day is not the most accurate either. Still, healthy saliva should never go below a pH of 6.8. If it is, it means that your alkaline mineral reserves are too low and the body does not have the minerals necessary to properly process food.
To test your saliva with pH strips:
- Work up some saliva in your mouth
- Put the strip in your mouth reagent side down
- Leave in one or two seconds until moist
- Take it out and wait the recommended time (generally 15 seconds)
- Record the results
Test your saliva several times a day too. Good times are also before lunch and dinner.
Test at other times too if you like, and keep a record of all of them. Definitely wait at least 30 minutes after eating to test, because food and drink can dramatically affect the reading.
Step 1 – Buy pH Test Strips
Purchase your pH strips right here today.
Step 2 – Get Ready For the Test
If you have a plastic strip, take out one. If you have yellow paper tape, you break off a piece of about 2-3 inch.
Step 3 – First Test
Test your urine. You need to pee on the pH test strip. The color will change.
Compare this color with the color of the pH on the test strip box. Read the PH number.
Step 4 – Write Down the pH number.
Write down the pH number, the date and time. (Put a notebook and pen in your bathroom)
Step 5 – Daily pH Testing
You may note that every time you go the bathroom the pH number is different. When you’re healthy the number will always be around 7.3 or even up to 8 just after eating. The first urine of the day is usually the lowest.
Check your urine every time you go to the bathroom, for at least two weeks.
Step 6 – How Healthy are You?
If the pH of your urine is mostly around 7.3 you’re fine.
If the pH of your urine is lower, especially if it’s below 6.5 this means you don’t have sufficient alkaline reserves to buffer acids. You are short in minerals such as sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium.
Step 7 – Get Healthy – Get Alkaline!
Add alkaline foods into your diet and eat less acid food. Eat more raw green leafy vegetables and less food high in animal protein, sugar and grains.
Eat more avocados, vegetable soup, fresh almond milk, young coconut water, wheat grass, green powder, green vegetable juices, smoothies, seaweed and super foods. Here you can view a full list of alkaline foods .
Keep testing a few times a day until you always test alkaline. It’s the best motivation for eating raw food!
